I haven’t tried this yet, but just brainstorming some ideas.
Teach a lesson, watch a video, listen to a presentation.
Have students take notes (either on computer or by hand) and as soon as it is finished, give a quiz that will check to see what information they wrote down (what they thought was important).
Do the same activity, with a different lesson/vid/pres and let them use Etherpad and put them in 4 or 5 groups of 4-6 students. Have them take notes together and use those notes to complete the quiz.
It could show the power of collaboration well…
