In a year... - 2007-01-01 22:42

That’s right. It is a new year. And time for resolutions. And like thousands of other Christian men around the world, I too am resolving to do two things:
1. Read through the Bible in a year.
B. Lose weight.

And like most other men joining me in these 2 endeavors, I have failed in the past. For the first, I have made it through April before quiting in the past. For the second, I have never tried to lose weight as a resolution. I’m planning to succeed at both. If I read anything that sparks a interesting or helpful thought, you may read about it. Otherwise I’ll keep my ponderings to myself.

Today I read the first two chapters of Genesis and Matthew. As much as I was hoping to get some deep understanding or some divine revelations, I’ve read both passages numerous times before and found my mind wandering quite often. Genesis is good (I just need to come at it with a fresh mind) and Matthew 1 is full of begotting people. It gets better. Just stick with it. I’m reading through with a handful of other guys using the Twelve Month Reading Plan from One Year Bible Online.
