BlankCamera… $300. Extra 512 MB Memory Stick… $30. Trip to Honduras for brother-in-law’s wedding… $1400. Losing the extra 512 MB Memory Stick full of wedding, sightseeing, and reception photos… irreplaceable.

That’s right. I put the extra memory in my pocket after filling it with 100ish pictures and when we got back from sightseeing it was gone. I searched everywhere on my person. Nada. I went back outside and retraced my steps. I would have checked the van, but it was returned to Avis. I have an awful feeling it fell out as we were walking around, taking money in and out of my pocket, or playing with my niece and nephew.

It is one of the worst feelings when something goes wrong, and its your fault, yet you didn’t do anything wrong. Yeah, yeah, I shouldn’t have put it in my pocket, but that wasn’t really anything wrong. Casey was upset because there were some pictures on there that she really wanted. I feel awful because it was my fault. She has been pretty gracious (after the initial shock that the pictures were gone). Thankfully there were other people taking pictures so everything wasn’t lost. But they were our pictures. Once I get some pictures from family, you’ll see one up at the top. Two things I learned from the experience (you should always take something away from your mistakes):

1. You should always bring a cord with you on vacation so that you can transfer pictures and not have to worry about losing the camera or the memory.
2. Don’t put memory sticks in your front pockets. Stupid pockets…
