Upcoming Entertainment - 2006-07-08 11:00

Spider-Man 3I know, I know… May 4th, 2007, but I’m so excited. Ever since I was a little boy running around in my Spider-Man under-roos, I have loved Peter Parker and his web-slinging alterego. I actually remember begging my mom to let me wear my underwear to a park, and I’m pretty sure she let me. Thankfully I was only three. I don’t know what it is about super heroes and comics, but I love almost all the movies that have portrayed my childhood heroes (never saw The Hulk because I heard it was awful).

A Scanner DarklyNow, for some of the other upcoming movies I want to see in the near future (preferably in a theatre). I first saw A Scanner Darkly in a WIRED Magazine and it immediately caught my attention. I’m not even exactly sure what the plot is, but the computer animation looks pretty nice. I love the fact that it is completely animated, yet I can tell exactly who the actors and that they actually acted. Check out the trailer if you are a bit confused by what I mean.

Dead Man's ChestFirst let me say that I love summer school. Not for the enjoyment purpose of teaching during the summer, but for the fact that it is only four days a week. I could definitely get used to three day weekends. With that said, my wife and I were able to go to a matinee on Friday (which we normally wouldn’t be able to do) and enjoyed the sequel of Pirates of the Carribean. If you liked the first one, you’ll enjoy the second. As in the last one, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Kiera Knightly were great. They have great chemistry. One note: don’t bother staying after the credits, it isn’t worth it (although X-Men 3 was).

Superman ReturnsLady in the WaterThe two other movies that have peaked my interest are Superman Returns and Lady in the Water. I don’t care for Superman as much as other super heroes. His weakness is just too weak. The only people that can hurt him are people with kryptonite in their back pocket… Seriously… But I still want to see it. On the other hand, I have really enjoyed other movies by M. Night Shyamalan and am hoping that Lady in the Water lives up to The Sixth Sense. Unbreakable and The Village weren’t great, but I still enjoyed watching them. Interesting note: so far, he has been able to work himself into all of his movies. It’ll be fun to see where he’ll pop up in this next one.

Oooh another movie buff! Great! :)

I have a question (a stupid one perhaps) Do you edit your photos in photoshop to give them that curved / shadowed look or is that something you upload them to or whatever? I like it! :)

Yeah movies! I love spending an evening in front of a movie. Or an afternoon. Why not, I’ll even watch one in the morning if I don’t have anything to do.

Remember, I’m a teacher, there are no stupid questions. Well… okay, there are a few (I’ll have to write a story about a few I’ve been asked), but the majority aren’t stupid. Probably 98.5% are good questions. Yes, I do edit them in Photoshop before uploading them. I cut the corners off and then use the blending option of emboss. I can give you specifics if you are interested. You can email me through my contact form (once I get it up in a couple days), or just post another message!
